The IGFLF Jade Dragon Octagon LeiTai Gung Fu Elimination Tournament will be held Saturday, July 29, 2006 in the grand traditional elimination style. Finals will be held on Sunday, July 30, 2006 if necessary. The LeiTai is an octagonal ancient Chinese LeiTai done in the traditional Southern Cantonese style.
**NOTE: FIGHTERS BE SURE TO BRING YOUR DOCTOR'S NOTE SAYING YOU ARE FIT TO FIGHT, YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO FIGHT WITHOUT IT!**
Pre-Registration
Pre-registration for the tournament is Now OPEN! For registration information for the IGFLF Jade Dragon Octagon LeiTai Gung Fu Elimination Tournament click here! Participants that wish to participate in the tournament must complete all registration forms and waivers in order to be eligible for competition. All fighters must include in their registration proof of insurance, and a physicians certificate stating the competitor is fit to fight in the tournament. Competitors should retain copies of this information and be prepared to present them onsite at the tournament.
Rules & Equipment
The tournament will strictly follow traditional LeiTai competition rules/ All participants will be required to wear official style headgear and gloves. All uniforms and equipment used will be subject to passing IGFLF approval at the tournament. The rules of the IGFLF strongly dictate that all competitors shall wear long pants and gung-fu shoes, however for this event, this rule will be waived in order to allow participation of Muay Thai competitors. Eliminations & Finals
Eliminations for the tournament will proceed consisting of 3 weight class divisions for both Men and Women. In the case where a woman fighter is not available to fight another in her weight category, if the fighter chooses, a 20 pound handicap will be given and the fighter will be allowed to fight in the Men’s Bracket. Finals will be held on the 30th if necessary.
Spectators
If you are interested in watching this grand event there is a $10/day pass to all festivities. Should you like to attend both days it is $15 for a 2-day pass.
*Disclaimer: The Jade Dragon Octagon LeiTai Gung Fu Elimination Tournament is a Preliminary to the World Championship. Belts are only awarded for the World Championship. Overall winners at the Elimination Tournaments will receive trophies and medals are awarded 1st - 4th place.*
